Polish: Training the Extraordinary

When one of our llamas exhibits a special talent or aptitude we enjoy providing them the opportunity to exceed the norm. Some of the tasks we ask of these llamas include:

• Learning to carry a child safely in a saddle during a parade or in the backcountry
• Learning to pull a cart
• Earning a PLTA Elite Pack Llama Certificate
• Learning to dependably follow and respond to their handler while off-lead
• Cushing on command for loading and adjustment of heavy packs
• Crawling on command
• Mentoring young pack llamas who are learning to string
